Privacy policy

Synchronous is a music-licensing workspace run by Silver Side (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: craig@silversideco.com.
Who this covers
- Team members who sign in to Synchronous.
- People we share music with: recipients of playlist links.
- People who send us music through an upload page.
- Contacts we work with: music supervisors, producers, clients and their companies.
What we collect
- Sign-in details: your name, email address and Google account ID when you sign in with Google.
- Work records: catalog songs and their details, playlists, requests, licenses, invoices, advances, notes and contact records that the team creates or imports.
- Playlist link activity: when someone opens a shared playlist link, plays a song or downloads a file, we record which link it was, what happened and when, so the sender can follow up.
- Uploads: the name and email entered on an upload page, and the audio files and song details sent.
- Contact details: names, roles, companies, email addresses and project information for the contacts we work with, including details we look up from public professional sources.
- Technical data: basic logs (IP address, browser and time of each request) kept to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- To run Synchronous: search the catalog, match songs to briefs, share playlists, track requests, and issue invoices.
- To show the team who opened, played or downloaded a shared playlist.
- To keep the service secure and working.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Google account data
If a team member connects a Google account in Settings › Connections, Synchronous uses it only for what they asked:
- Google Sheets: reading and updating the team's own request and outreach spreadsheets, to keep them in step with Synchronous.
- Google Drive: saving invoice PDFs into the deal folders the team chooses.
Synchronous's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use Google data for advertising, we don't sell it, and people don't read it except to support the account owner, for security, or where the law requires. You can disconnect at any time in Settings › Connections or in your Google account's security settings.
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers, only to run Synchronous:
- cloud hosting and storage (servers, database and files, in the United States);
- Google sign-in;
- AI services that read written briefs and transcribe song lyrics;
- a professional-contact lookup service used when the team asks Synchronous to find a contact's details.
Each provider gets only what that task needs.
How long we keep it
We keep records for as long as they're needed for the work, invoicing and accounting. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we'll do so unless we have to keep it (for example, invoices for tax records).
Your choices
Email craig@silversideco.com to see, correct or delete information about you, or to stop receiving playlist links.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to signed-in team members, and accounts are protected by Google sign-in.
Children
Synchronous is a business tool and isn't meant for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and its date.
